A Cheyenne man is facing up to ten years in prison after allegedly choking his pregnant step-daughter and throwing her on the floor.

Forty-three-year-old Steven King was arrested on a felony warrant on December 6.

According to court documents, King's step-daughter and her boyfriend were visiting her mother on November 23, when King entered the house and told them they needed to leave or else he was going to knock the boyfriend "out where he stood."

King's step-daughter told police when she told King to stop, he grabbed her by the throat and threw her backwards causing her to hit the back of her head on the floor.

King then doubled up his fists and went after the boyfriend. The boyfriend told police King "pinned him against the wall," but didn't punch him.

King's step-daughter, who is 15 weeks pregnant, was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where ER personnel determined her and her baby were okay.

King has been charged with aggravated assault and battery against a pregnant woman and unlawful contact - touch. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 14 in Laramie County Circuit Court.
