UPDATE: Investigators say they will need to perform DNA tests to confirm the body of a man found on Interstate 25 in Colorado is in fact 30-year-old Randall Vanwoerkom, as police believe. The man  was hit by several vehicles after apparently getting into a wreck on the interstate and then walking back onto the highway.

The Cheyenne Police Department responded to multiple 911 hang up calls at 4306 Cheyenne St. at 11:15 p.m. on Friday and found four people had been stabbed.

A person police believe to be the suspect, Randall Vanwoerkom, 30, is dead after being hit by several cars in Weld County, Colo.

When officers got there, they found four members of Vanwoerkom's family had been stabbed with a knife multiple times. The victims include his wife, Marcai Vanwoerkom, 30, and the couple’s 4 and 6-year-old sons as well as Marcai’s father, James Langdon, whose age is unknown at this time. Cheyenne Police Officers gave first aid to the victims until paramedics could arrive and started to look for the suspect.

The victims were taken to the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for treatment and are in stable condition.

Investigators found that Vanwoerkom was the suspect and had attacked his family after he was accused  of  cheating on his wife. Randall Vanwoerkom fled the scene in a vehicle before police got there.

As they were trying to to contact Vanwoerkom, they were told at about 1 a.m. on Jan. 16 that the suspect was believed to be involved in a fatal crash on I-25 in Weld County.

The identity of the person killed after being struck by multiple vehicles while in the roadway is still being confirmed and the crash is being investigated by authorities in Weld County.

The case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department
