Military veterans will be honored with a special Memorial Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday at Beth-El Cemetery in Cheyenne.

All veterans are being invited to the event, which is open to the public. The cemetery is operated by the City of Cheyenne and is located just north of Pershing Boulevard and south of the Cheyenne Airport.

The Cheyenne Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1881 is hosting a free public lunch on Monday afternoon from 1-3. The lunch will be held at the VFW post at 2816 E. Seventh St. The Cheyenne American Legion Post 6  was scheduled to place flags at the graves of all military veterans buried in five local cemeteries Saturday morning to honor those who served.

The flags will remain in place to honor the veterans until they are removed one week later, on Saturday, June 3.
