Over 20 block parties will be held in Cheyenne Tuesday night as the community celebrates Neighborhood Night Out.

Now in it's eighth year, the event is designed to bring neighbors, businesses and police together to recognize and prevent crime in the community.

"We really just want to make sure that we're out and a part of the community and the citizens know that we're there for them," said Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Officer Kevin Malatesta.

"We will be hosting a party for the downtown folks this year," he added. "It's going to be here at 17th and Thomes. So that should be a lot of fun, something a little bit different."
