Cheyenne Offers 3 Farmers Markets Each Week Through October

What do you like to buy at the fall farmer's markets?

Each week through the beginning of October, Cheyenne offers farmer's markets on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays in different parts of the city. The Tuesday Farmers Market is held in the Frontier Mall parking lot near the Sears end from 3 to 6:30 p.m. until October 1. Along with fresh produce grown around the region they also offer homemade jams, local honey, farm fresh eggs and cheese, fresh breads and baked goods, pastas, smoked salmon and BBQ and local meats. And they even offer non food items such as handmade crafts, alpaca and bison fibers, hand-crafted body care products and wood working creations.

Community Action of Laramie County hosts their Farmers Market at the Depot Plaza each Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through October 5. Featured items include fresh peaches, berries, cantaloupe, sweet corn, onions, potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers and squash. They also showcase roasted peppers, locally produced honey, candy, fresh baked breads, organic produce, trees, plants and flowers. The generated income is used for programs that assist low-income individuals and families. EBT, Debt and Credit are accepted, you can stop by the Community Action booth to swipe your card and receive tokens to spend at the market.

Also each week, shop at the South Cheyenne Sunday Farmers Market held in the Outlaw Saloon parking lot at 312 South Greeley Highway from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. They feature Palisade peaches, pears, apples, tomatoes, Olathe corn, melons, beans, pickling cucumbers, cabbage, zucchini and a variety of peppers and ristra. Peppers are also roasted on site and they sell baked goods made from produce like zucchini and banana bread.
