Police have arrested a 24 year-old man in connection with an armed robbery that occurred early yesterday morning in Cheyenne.

Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Lt. Rob Dafoe says Cheyenne Police were called to the Kum & Go (4505 Ridge Rd) early Tuesday morning regarding an armed robbery that had just occurred. At approximately 3:40 AM, officers responded to the convenience store and immediately surrounded the area as a lone gunman reportedly had just fled from the area on foot.

Dafoe says initial reports indicated a lone male subject approached the store clerk and demanded money from the safe and cash register. During the robbery, a handgun was pointed at the clerk. After retrieving an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, the robber fled from the store on foot.

Dafoe sats multiple officers and police K-9’s searched the area extensively. Soon after, a male matching the description of the robber, was located in the 3900 block of Dell Range Blvd. Based on further investigation, 24 year-old Bronson Elder of Cheyenne was taken into custody and booked on Aggravated Robbery (Armed Robbery) charges. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the robbery. Dafoe says the case remains under investigation by Cheyenne Police Detectives.
