Cheyenne Police Chief Brian Kozak says there are fewer accidents on the Converse/Pershing/19th Street Roundabout than there were after it first opened.

Kozak says in the early days of the roundabout there were probably an average of roughly eight accidents per month in that area. He says recently there have only been about two accidents per month on average, indicating local motorists are getting better at driving on it.

He also says most of the accidents that do occur tend to be of the "fender bender" variety rather than more serious collisions. That's because roundabout accidents generally involve vehicles headed in the same direction at relatively low speeds.

Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen has said several times that he thinks most motorists in the city now like the roundabout, after some initial skepticism.
