An official with the Cheyenne Police Department says that agency is seeing more marijuana since the drug was legalized in Colorado.

Captain Mitch Maxwell says while pot has always been common in Cheyenne, officers are now routinely finding the drug when they are called on complaints about loud parties and similar calls.

Maxwell says he has friends in law enforcement in Colorado who report kids there are more focused on getting marijuana these days as opposed to the traditional underage drinking that used to be prevalent.

While they probably don't contribute to the increase in pot in Wyoming, Washington and Alaska have also legalized marijuana. There are also marijuana legalization efforts underway in several other states.
