Young adults interested in "exploring" a career in law enforcement may want to consider joining the Cheyenne Police Department's Explorer Program.

Open to young men and women ages 14 to 20, the hands-on program offers participants the opportunity to experience firsthand what it's like to be a police officer.

For those wishing to learn more about the program, police will be holding an information night at the Cheyenne Public Safety Center on Oct. 24 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Those who are unable to attend can contact Officer Josh Hedum, the Explorer Post 112 Senior Advisor, at (307) 633-6643 or jhedum@cheyennepd.org for more information.
