Cheyenne Police Identify Kidnapping Suspect

Cheyenne Police have identified the suspect arrested in a kidnapping case Thursday night in the 5800 block of Eastland Court.

Cheyenne Police spokesman Officer Dan Long says 33 year old Charlie Ramirez is facing charges of Kidnapping, Public Indecency, Battery and Assault. Long says Ramirez is accused of approaching a three year old boy Thursday night with his pants down and his genitalia partially exposed.

A witness says Ramirez grabbed the boy around his neck and began to take him in the direction of Ramirez's truck. Ramirez allegedly released the boy when a witness yelled that the police were on the way. Ramirez was later found by police and arrested.  Kidnapping is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison under Wyoming law.

Long says the case remains under investigation.
