A spokesman for the Cheyenne Police Department says police responded to fewer drunk driving related crashes in 2013 compared to the year before

The department logged 71 such calls last year compared to 82 in 2012. But in spite of the decline, Long says too many people are still choosing to drink and drive. He urges people who are planning to drink to get a designated driver or call a taxi rather than driving.

Ahead of the St. Patrick's Day holiday, the regional DUI Task Force will be activated on Friday evening. The task force includes the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Laramie County Sheriff's Department and law enforcement from state parks in addition to Cheyenne Police.
