Cheyenne Police Chief Brian Kozak says his officers will be making an all-out effort to catch motorists who run red lights in the near future.

The chief says Cheyenne Police Traffic Patrol units have identified four intersections in the city as problem areas that need extra attention from police. He says the intersections have the highest crash rates in Cheyenne, with red-light violations causing most of the accidents.

While Kozak wouldn't identify the intersections, he says he will release that information before long.

The chief says in conjunction with the special enforcement effort, the average fine for running a red light in Cheyenne Municipal Court has been raised to $175.
