Cheyenne Police Urge Caution in School Zones [VIDEO]

Thousands of Cheyenne students will head back to school tomorrow (Tuesday) and police are urging drivers to use extra caution.

"The Cheyenne Police Department will be conducting increased traffic enforcement in school zones," said Officer Kevin Malatesta.

"Driving behaviors of particular concern are speeding in school zones, passing stopped school buses and yielding to pedestrians in the crosswalk," Malatesta added.

Speeding in a school zone could cost you a ticket ranging from $110 to $360. Passing a school bus with its flashing red lights on is a $400 ticket.

Police are also encouraging parents to talk to their kids about safe ways to walk or bike to school and the correct way to cross streets.
