Did your power go out this afternoon?

Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power responded to a power outage Thursday afternoon, October 2, affecting nearly 5,000 customers in the Cheyenne area.

Power went out about 3:15 p.m. and was restored at 4:30 p.m. according to spokesperson Sharon Fain. Crews called in early reports saying an underground line issue near Morrie Avenue and Interstate 80 had caused the service interruption. The cause of the outage is still being investigated.

Crews responding to the outage estimated that it affected approximately 4,700 customers. The area involved in today's power outage includes the area east and west of I-80 and 10th Street, north to the area of E. Pershing and Newton, east and west of Converse Ave

At least it was still daylight when the power went out and it wasn't freezing. Thank you Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power for helping to keep the lights on!
