After nearly two years of work, Cheyenne's new Public Safety Center is now open for business.

The $26.75 million state-of-the-art facility is home to the Cheyenne Police Department, Cheyenne Fire and Rescue Administration and the Laramie County 911 Communications and Emergency Operations Centers.

"The public should no longer go to the building at 2020 Capitol Avenue," said Cheyenne Police Officer Dan Long. "They can now complete police business at the Cheyenne Public Safety Center."

A formal ribbon cutting ceremony will take place in front of the new building, located at 415 W. 18th Street, on June 1 at 2 p.m.

The public will have an opportunity to tour most parts of the building following the ceremony.
