In an effort to keep trash from blowing around this winter, the Cheyenne Sanitation Department is asking residents to bag their recyclables through the end of March.

"November through March tends to be our windiest months," said Dennis Pino, Director of Solid Waste. "To help prevent a littering problem around our community we are asking residents to bag their recyclable material in a 15-30 gallon plastic bag or a large paper bag and put it in the appropriate container."

Pino is also asking residents to refrain from putting their recycling containers out on extremely windy days and wait until their next scheduled pick-up day.

Residents serviced by the city's single-stream recycling program can drop off their recyclables free of charge at the Cheyenne Transfer Station located at 220 North College Drive.
