The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities [BOPU] is warning Cheyenne residents to expect low water pressure and/or discolored water over the next couple of weeks [March 26-April 13].

The BOPU says it will be connecting two large diameter water mains by the North Range Business Park, and the project could lead to low pressure and discolored water, especially from March 26 through March 30.

The BOPU says that while the discolored water is safe to drink, it may stain laundry. It is also safe for watering plants or landscape work, according to the BOPU. The board says you can reduce the water discoloration by running the COLD water faucet or spigot for a few minutes, or by flushing your toilet multiple times.

While the water pressure may diminish, the BOPU says local homes and businesses will continue to get water service through the project.
