It has been said that if a family is poor, if a child is hungry, or if the cause is great, we live in a very blessed city because of the charity and volunteerism in Cheyenne.

But the giving doesn't just stop there. It has traditionally extended to our military and their families as well.

Thanks to Cheyenne resident Glen Chavez and all of the businesses and residents of Cheyenne who buy, decorate and donate a Christmas tree to our military families every year, free of charge.

The Historic Hynds Building, at the corner of Capital and Lincolnway, has been lit up these past few weeks with donated Christmas Trees that will go to military families. Especially since we have soldiers and airmen over in Afghanistan this holiday season.

These trees will be finding a new and loving home over the next few days. If you haven't had the chance to take a look, you may want to do so soon.

Thank you to all of the groups, clubs, churches, businesses and residents who support our troops and their families, not only with their mouth, but also with their actions.
