The Cheyenne Community Rotaract Club has donated two time-era clocks to be placed inside the former Union Pacific Depot building.

"One of our club members visited the Depot Museum and noticed that there were a couple of things missing from the renovation and got in touch with some museum staff and asked about the clocks," said Shawnna Herron of the Rotaract Club. "We talked to the city and decided that the clocks wouldn't be too difficult to get fabricated as part of the depot building renovation."

Herron says they've been working on the project for over a year.

"Things have moved a little bit slowly because the clocks aren't restored, we had to have them fabricated from scratch," said Herron. "There were some old pictures of the clocks in the depot that we used for the style and Wyoming Trophy & Engraving has been just wonderful getting the clocks built for us."

"The City of Cheyenne is delighted to have these clocks inside the depot and there placement will just add to the charm of this wonderful National Historic Landmark,” said Bob Bradshaw, Special Projects Director for the City of Cheyenne.

"It took a considerable amount of work to partner with the city and the depot to really get the design and the placement of the clocks correct," said Herron. "It worked out really well for us."

An unveiling of the clocks will take place at 5:30 p.m. on October 27 in the depot. The event is open to the public.
