The Cheyenne Schools Foundation has announced over $33,000 in grants to various classroom teachers in Laramie County School District#1.

Eight LCSD#1 schools also received a little over $4000 for their participation in the "Run For #1" fundraiser last month. The foundation was started in 1995 and gives grants directly to classroom teachers for projects the district doesn't have the money for.

A record amount of money was awarded by the foundation this year, in part because of donations from local businesses. A few of the projects that were awarded grants included classroom study of robotics, abstract art, the creation of a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) lab and library, and a wide range of other subjects.
