A former Cheyenne Taco John's manager who admitted to having sex with a 16-year-old employee last year has been sentenced to four years of probation.

Twenty-six-year-old Kelli Garcia-Irwin was sentenced Friday in Laramie County District Court.

According to court documents, authorities became aware of Garcia-Irwin's relationship with the teen last February after the boy's father reported him as a runaway.

Investigators say Garcia-Irwin told them she loved the boy and would have married him if he were 18.

Garcia-Irwin was charged with a single count of third-degree sexual abuse of a minor and pleaded guilty to the crime in November. She told the judge at the time that she thought the age of consent was 16.

As part of a plea deal in the case, prosecutors were planning to recommend first-offender probation for Garcia-Irwin, but she broke one of the conditions of her bond agreement by having contact with the teen and the prosecution recommended probation instead.

If Garcia-Irwin violates the terms of her probation she could face three to five years in prison.
