The City of Cheyenne yard waste program is up and running for the 2018 season, according to a release from the city.

City residents who are enrolled in the program are having their yard waste containers picked up starting this week.

The program will end in mid-November.

The city is reminding people that only grass, leaves,  and garden waste are allowed in the special yard waste containers. Branches, tree limbs and brush are not allowed to be put in the containers, and bagging the yard waste is strictly prohibited.

Besides having the yard waste picked up in the special containers provided by the city, people can also drop off the waste at the City Compost Facility at 3714 Windmill Road.

The facility is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For now,  it is closed on Sunday and Monday, but from May 1 to September 30, it will be open from noon until 4 p.m. on Sundays, however, there will be no cash sales on Sundays.
