Richard Johnson is a Cheyenne City Councilman, representing Ward 3. He's also one of the most outspoken and outrageous political figures in the Capital City.

When he's not wearing a Slayer t-shirt to council meetings, he's busy collecting signatures to legalize medical marijuana in Wyoming or posting scantily clad pictures of himself on Facebook.

Now, the controversial City Councilman is finally trying to clean up his act. Johnson is among several local leaders participating in the upcoming "Adopt-A-Block" event in May.

The program, spearheaded by the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority, includes an effort to clean up alleys and sidewalks in the downtown area from Snyder to Evans between 15th and 22nd Streets.

Johnson is asking the public to donate supplies for the project, including brooms, putty knives, cleaning agents, trash bags, cleaning gloves, hammers and screwdrivers. Volunteers are also needed for the event.

In exchange for community support, Johnson has promised to refrain from posting any shirtless photos online and vows to take a shower prior to attending City Council meetings in the future.

Those wishing to help Johnson "Adopt-A-Block", are encouraged to contact Ginny from the DDA at 307-433-9730.
