The Kabob King restaurant on 1439 Stillwater Avenue is going out of business this weekend.

Owner Dale Mamian made the announcement yesterday on Facebook. According to Mamian, they're not closing due to a lack of customers. Instead, he and his wife Jennifer were presented with a chance to open "the restaurant of our dreams".

Sadly, it won't be in Cheyenne, but not for lack of trying.  Mamian says he wanted to stay, but just couldn't pass up "the opportunity of a lifetime".

Kabob King began two years ago as a food truck and later expanded to their current location, off of Dell Range. In addition to Mediterranean fare, their gigantic burgers, Philly cheese steak sandwiches and breakfast burritos were also popular.

The restaurant drew solid reviews, with a rating of 4 out of 5 stars on both Yelp and Trip Advisor.

"It has been an amazing 2 years from our food truck to this restaurant," Mamian posted on Facebook. "We have met many wonderful people and made some great new friends. Please stop by and say goodbye."

Saturday will be their last day in business and they'll be open until 9 p.m.

(Pro Tip: If you love Kabobs, check out Maza Kabob the next time you're in Fort Collins. It's operated by a family from Afghanistan and the food is incredible. In fact, it's currently ranked 2nd out of 387 restaurants in Fort Collins on Trip Advisor.)
