Any plumbing problems at your place so far this winter?

With some of the extreme fluctuations in temperature this month, local plumbers have been keeping busy fixing frozen pipes. We had hot water heater problems at our house.

At the end of last week, we noticed the hot water turning to scalding within seconds and then the next day there was no heat at all to the water. I thought I could tough out a cold shower, but this was like jumping into Lake Marie up on the Snowy Range.

If you've ever had to go a day or two without hot water, you know what I mean when I say 'you don't know what you got till it's gone.' With all of our modern conveniences these days, we forget how hard things can be. Being without a basic necessity brings you right back to reality, I have learned to really appreciate having my hot water

We called Merritt Plumbing & Heating on Ridge Road, behind the State Farm agency, and Logan came right over and replaced a couple thermostats on our hot water heater. He pointed out that each one had a reset button we could have pressed and had hot water again immediately. Thanks Logan! And thank you Merritt for fitting us in.

Now our ice maker on the refrigerator is leaking! Creating a winter wonderland inside our freezer, including icicles. We have a call in to B&B Appliance to stop by and take a look at it.

Have you ever had a week when everything seems to start breaking at the same time?
