You wouldn't expect a meat and potatoes town like Cheyenne to have many Asian restaurants. However, there's several excellent options for adventurous diners in the Capital City.  With the exception of Pho, Filipino and Vietnamese cuisine, the flavors of the orient are well represented in southeastern Wyoming.

Here's our completely subjective list of Cheyenne's Top 5 Asian Restaurants.

1. The Korean House - Consistently ranked among the best restaurants in town, this small, out of the way joint, located across the street from a gas station on Snyder Avenue is run by two little old ladies.

The kim chee, egg rolls and dumplings are excellent and their signature dish, Be Bop Bim, is one of the best entrees you'll find anywhere. Sadly, they are closed on the weekends and they recently discontinued service in their dining room. Even as a take out only establishment, it earns the top spot on this list.

2. Anong's Thai Cuisine - Located off the beaten path, south of I-80 on Central Avenue, this place doesn't look charming on the outside. However, they know how to prepare Thai dishes for American palates. It's not incredibly authentic, but it's the perfect place for a town like Cheyenne. If you not familiar with the spices of Thai cuisine, this is a great introduction. And the service is outstanding.

3. Wasabi Japanese Grill and Bar - This newcomer is a welcome addition to the Cheyenne restaurant scene, which definitely needed a Japanese steakhouse. The teppanyaki tables make for a fun dining experience (who doesn't love an onion volcano?). The steaks and chicken are a safe bet for picky eaters who are hesitant to try new things. And if you're not afraid of sushi, the rolls are legit.

Their location, upstairs in an office building tucked away behind a car wash on Del Range, isn't great and the service can be hit and miss at times, but the atmosphere is cool and the prices are reasonable.

4. Mongolian Grill - If you're in the mood for Mongolian bbq, this is the only place to find it in Cheyenne. The menu offers a wide variety of noodles, meats, sauces and spices. The options are plentiful, you can watch the cooks prepare your food, and you can't beat the price.

Like the other restaurants on this list, it doesn't look like much from the outside. Located in a strip mall behind the Boot Barn off Del Range, it's a solid option for a quick, inexpensive, fresh and tasty meal.

5. Twin Dragon - No list of the best Asian restaurants is complete without Chinese food. There are several credible options in Cheyenne, notably the Dynasty Cafe. The Twin Dragon gets the nod on our list for its huge menu, historic downtown location, good service and, arguably, the biggest and best lunch buffet in town.

It's your typical American style Chinese place, but it's always open and it has a large dining room for entertaining friends and family.
