While it is true that Wyoming has had a rather wet 2017, water in this state is usually scarce. That is why, if you are a land owner of any sort, you need to know your water rights, according to a local organization.

The Bomber Mountain Civic Center, 58 North Adams Ave, Buffalo, WY, is hosting three classes to teach you what you need to know.

Functions of the State Engineer's Office; Wyoming Water Rights Basics and How to use the State Engineer's Office Water Rights Database This class has been approved for 4 hours of continuing education credit for real estate licensees and appraisers.

Water Right Searches by Legal Description and Survey Type

1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
We will discuss several types of legal descriptions used
in Wyoming, beginning with the principal meridians. A
brief history will be presented of the surveys made by the
U.S. Government that are still used today. These will include Original Survey, Dependent Resurvey, Independent Resurvey, Homestead Entry Survey, Desert Land Entry Survey, Mineral Survey and Unsurveyed/protracted Survey. This class has been approved for 3 hours of continuing education credit for real estate licensees and
appraisers.
