WYDOT advises motorists in the Cheyenne area that the configuration for vehicles using the College Drive/ I-25 Interchange will switch on Monday evening at about 10 pm. Drivers should watch for flaggers and barrels on the bridge. This switch marks the beginning of the final phase of the College Drive Diverging Diamond project which is the first of its kind in Wyoming.

In fact, traffic operations beginning on Monday night will be the same as with the finished interchange. Full project completion is set for the end of October when work such as the installation of traffic islands and permanent signals is complete. The benefits of this type of interchange at College Drive include significantly reduced delay for vehicles entering and exiting the freeway. It also provides capacity for a 20-year horizon of projected traffic volumes and planned developments, without costly modifications to the existing bridge.
