Council Approves Microbrewery Permit for Danielmark’s

Cheyenne's central business district will soon be home to a new microbrewery.

The Cheyenne City Council, Monday night, unanimously approved a microbrewery permit application for Danielmark's Brewing Company, Inc.

"Danielmark's Brewing Company intends to provide a family-friendly microbrewery atmosphere to Cheyenne residents and visitors," said Jeffrey Boldt, an attorney who represents Danielmark's. "It will offer handcrafted, small-batch, high-quality malt beverages as well as non-alcoholic drinks, including scratch made root beer, in a relaxed, low-key environment."

The owners of two apartment buildings adjacent to the proposed business had voiced concerns about noise, but Boldt says both have withdrawn their objections.

"Danielmark's will limit the hours of its operation in the evening to 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays," said Boldt. "No loud, raucous or amplified music will be played."

Several young professionals also spoke in support of the microbrewery.

"I think that's something important for our downtown to have," said Tommy Martin. "I think it's rare to find people who are willing and courageous enough to start a small business, especially in downtown Cheyenne where it seems like a lot of them have failed."

"I like that we don't have another reason to go to Ft. Collins for something," said Ben Rose. "This is specifically geared to help downtown and improve our downtown district."

Danielmark's, which is located at 209 East 18th Street, hopes to open for business in November and employ eight people.
