It was a rather somber post-game press conference last Saturday for the Wyoming Cowboys after their 13-7 loss to Fresno State in the 2017 home finale.Wyoming struggled to put together a consistent effort on offense, and one of their two turnovers led to the Bulldogs’ only touchdown in the game.

Junior safety Andrew Wingard led the Cowboy defense with 12 tackles and a forced fumble. Wingard felt they didn’t do enough to get the victory.

Junior running back Nico Evans caught a 6-yard Nick Smith pass and broke a couple of tackles with 2:25 left for UW’s only touchdown of the game. Evans discussed his TD, the offensive performance, Nick Smith at QB and more.

Sophomore receiver Austin Conway led the Pokes with seven catches for 105 yards. He had a 30-yard catch that led to Wyoming’s only touchdown and a 41-yard reception that got UW in position to have a shot at the end. Conway also had the fumble on the punt return that led to the Fresno State TD. Conway talked about the fumble, the inconsistency on offense and more.

Wyoming (7-4, 5-2) concludes the regular season at San Jose State. The game starts at 3 p.m., Mountain Time, on Saturday.
