The Wyoming Cowboys will face the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers for the College Basketball Invitational Championship this week.

The Cowboys are seeking their first championship of any kind since December, when they lost in overtime to USC in the title game of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic. Of course, it’s been two years since the Pokes won the Mountain West Tournament Championship. Their last appearance in a post-season title game was at the NIT in New York City 31 years ago. UW lost to Ohio State in that game.

Wyoming head coach Allen Edwards was asked what this means to him and the program in his first year.

It’s a best two-out-of-three game series, which guarantees each school at least one home game.

Game one is Monday night at the HTC Center in Conway, S.C. with a game time of 5:30 p.m., Mountain Time.

Wednesday’s second game and the, if needed, third game will be in Laramie at the Arena-Auditorium. The game time for March 29 is 7 p.m., Mountain Time. The “if necessary” game will tip-off at 5 p.m., Mountain Time.

The games will be televised nationally on ESPNU. Check your local cable or satellite provider for channel information. The game is also available on local radio.
