The Wyoming Cowgirls have been tabbed to finish in third place in the Preseason Mountain West Coaches' poll revealed Monday.

Wyoming garnered 96 total points in the balloting among the league's 12 head coaches.

Defending Mountain West regular season and tournament champion San Diego State was picked to win the conference. The Aztecs received nine of the 12 first place votes. They had 119 points in the poll.

Colorado College was selected second. The Tigers got two first place votes. Boise State, who was picked sixth, also received a first place vote.

Wyoming finished second a year ago and returns 15 letterwinners from that squad.

They begin their season Friday, August 21, at Montana.
