It was a weekend full of three set sweeps on the volleyball court for the Wyoming Cowgirls. They won their own UniWyo Invite last Friday and Saturday.

Sophomore Reed Copeland was named the Tournament MVP. Seniors Laura Beach and Courtney Chacon were also named to the All-Tournament team.

Copeland had nine kills and led the Cowgirls to a 3-0 victory Friday over Samford. Scores of the match went 25-10, 25-14 and 25-19. Wyoming out-hit the Bulldogs .429 to .043.

In the second match Saturday afternoon, Laura Beach had 11 kills, while redshirt freshman Bayly Poor added ten kills in the sweep of Cal State University Northridge. The scores were 25-21, 25-23 and 25-15.

Against Eastern Washington in the tournament finale, Wyoming rolled past the Eagles 25-18, 25-12 and 25-16. Copeland had a season-high 10 kills, while Beach added seven kills and five blocks.

Chacon tallied 25, 35 and 26 assists in the three matches, respectively.

The Cowgirls are now 5-5 on the season and have won four straight, all in straight sets.

Wyoming goes back on the road to the Idaho Volleyball Classic this week in Moscow, Idaho. UW will face off against Tennessee Tech, Oregon State and host Idaho on Sept. 15-16.
