In recognition of National Cancer Survivor Day and the courage shown by local cancer survivors, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is hosting a pair of events Monday to celebrate those who have beaten cancer.

Tammy Thiede, CRMC Director of Oncology Services, says it will be the first such celebration ever held at the Cheyenne hospital. Among other things a pair of gift baskets donated by Wyoming Oncology Professionals (WYOP) will be given away, with one going to a man and another to a woman cancer survivor.

Cake and refreshments will be served, and survivors are being invited to sign their names and survival time on flower, leaf and butterfly cutouts provided by the CRMC cancer center. the events are slated from 10 a.m. until noon and again from 1p.m. until 3 p.m. at the CRMC Cancer Center.

All local cancer survivors as well as their friends and family are invited to attend.
