The Transitional Care Unit at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center has been recognized with a top five star rating from the Centers For Medicaid and Medicare Services.

Staci Stone, Program Director for the unit says the CRMC unit was one of five nursing homes in Wyoming to receive the top rating in the most recent survey by the centers. She says criteria include results from state inspections of the facility as well as staffing and general quality of care.

The Transitional Care Unit is located on the fourth floor of CRMC and provides short term care to patients going through rehabilitation  from surgery as well as other medical issues, according to Stone. She says the unit is staffed by nurses, therapists and a doctor to oversee care of the patients there.
