CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation says it will not release details about a man who died after exchanging gunfire with Cheyenne police until a criminal investigation is complete

The agency says Saige Hack's autopsy results as well as other details from the scene will not be available until the Laramie County District Attorney decides whether to file criminal charges related to the incident.

On July 16, police say officers responded to a call about suspicious circumstances. When they arrived on scene, officers say a man shot at the approaching officers. Two officers fired back and retreated.

Since it wasn't clear whether the man had been hit, police tried for several hours to contact him before entering the home and finding Hack dead.
