Deep Purple's 1972 release Machine Head will be this weekend's Album Side Sunday. At the beginning of the eight o'clock hour we'll play side 2 on Your Sunday Brunch.

It starts off with their biggest hit Smoke On The Water, an autobiographical song about the fire that destroyed a casino on the shore of Lake Geneva in Switzerland.

The longest song on the album called Lazy comes next at over seven minutes, perfect for a lazy Sunday morning in your pajamas.

The final song on side two is Space Truckin' based on the Batman Theme according to Ritchie Blackmore.

Along with guitarist Blackmore, the lineup on the album includes Ian Gillan on vocals and harmonica, Roger Glover on bass, Jon Lord as the keyboardist and Ian Paice on drums.

Want to thank Jay Bell of JaCaMo Natural Scentsations for the suggestion. Hope you'll join us for Your Sunday Brunch.
