In early February, I told you about a planned “Super Festival” for Denver in in 2018. Last night, July 31, the city council gave it’s approval in a 10 – 3 vote.

The 3-day festival is expected to draw 30,000 to 60,000 people per day. Noise, trash, parking and transportation have been major concerns for the neighbors of Overland Park Golf Course, along the South Platte River in south Denver, where the event will be held in September of next year. The venue has also been reserved for the following four years.

It will be a while before a lineup and on-sale are announced, but the show is a go.

Organizers “Superfly, will pay $200,000 to rent the golf course for the five weeks following Labor Day. That time includes set up, the three-day festival, and breakdown.” Over $100,000 will be set aside for landscaping and “displaced golfers.” Should we start a Go-Fund-Me for them?

Here's a personal look at "Outside Lands," one of the festivals Superfly staged last year.
