Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen has chosen Dr. Richard Berry to lead the city's Youth Alternatives program. Berry has been serving as Assistant Director of the program and has worked there for the past 29 years. He has extensive counseling experience in a variety of settings, including a psychiatric hospital, outpatient counseling and residential treatment centers.

He has also worked with churches, the district attorney's office and community agencies. Berry is a Cheyenne native and a graduate of Central High School and the University of Wyoming. He replaces longtime director Ronn Jeffrey, effective today. But Kaysen says the city council will review an employment contract to keep Jeffrey as Juvenile Judge in Municipal Court.
