The recent adoption of the Common Core Curriculum will require an in-depth review of the current curriculum in Laramie County School District 1, according to Dr. Tracy Kinney, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction for the district.

Kinney says the good news is that in her opinion, the existing state standards were probably fairly close to the common core in terms of academic rigor, but she says district officials will have to do a thorough review to make sure that what is being taught conforms to the new standards. Kinney says once the review is complete, the next challenge will be for classroom teachers to find the instructional time needed to meet any increase demand posed by the common core
