A spokeswoman for the Colorado-Wyoming Donor Alliance is urging state motorists to sign up to  be a donor when they renew their driver's license.

Andrea Smith says there is one very good reason to be a donor, "to save lives". She says at last report there were over 200 state residents waiting for potentially life-saving organ or tissue donations.

Smith also says that despite what many people believe, you don't have to be young or in perfect health to donate. She says in Laramie County people as old as 91 have been donors.

Smith says in Wyoming almost 60 percent of driver's license holders have signed up to be donors, putting it in the top ten states in the nation percentage wise.
