Services provided by the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) division within the Department of Workforce Services will be temporarily reduced due to the federal government shutdown. The program assists people with disabilities establish and reach vocational goals that help them become productive working citizens.

“It comes with great regret that vocational rehabilitation services will be limited at this time,” said Department of Workforce Services Director Joan Evans. “The loss of federal spending authority in this program left the agency with no other way to address the situation.”

The majority of the division’s funds come from the federal government. VR offices will remain open; though hours will be limited. Those needing VR services should check with their community VR office to determine open hours. Open office hours will also be updated on wyomingworkforce.org.
