Laramie County voters can begin voting on the items proposed for funding through the county's sixth-penny sales tax on Thursday, March 23.

Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee says voting will be held in the Atrium of the Laramie County Governmental Complex from 8:30 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday from March 23 through May 1. Election day on the issue is May 2.

Lee says people who are not registered to vote may register in the Atrium. A government-issued photo ID is needed to vote, with a Wyoming Driver's license being the preferred document.

Lee says military or student IDs are also accepted. In order to register to vote a person must be at least 18 years old on election day, a U.S. citizen and a resident of Laramie County. Anyone who has a felony conviction must have had their voting rights restored. Voters can also ask for an absentee mail ballot by calling the clerk's election office at (307) 633-4242.

They can also request a ballot by emailing election@laramiecountyclerk.com. Voters asking for an absentee ballot need to provide their name as it appears on the voter registration list, date of birth, residential address and the ballot where the address is to be mailed.

A friend or relative may pick up the absentee ballot with written permission from the voter. You can see a sample ballot by clicking here.
