East and South To Represent Cheyenne In High School Football Playoffs

Wyoming's high school football playoffs begin Friday night. All five classes send their top 8 teams to the quarterfinals.

In class 4A football, Cheyenne is represented by two high schools.

#8 Cheyenne South at #1 Gillette Friday at 7:00 p.m.

#7 Cheyenne East at #2 Sheridan Friday at 6:00 p.m.

Cheyenne South is making their first ever playoff appearance. The Bison are the eight seed into the playoffs with a 3-6 overall record. South opened up the season with three straight victories, but have lost six in a row. The losing skid forces South to play the top-ranked team in the state, Gillette, in the first round.

Cheyenne East also has a tough challenge in facing the Sheridan Broncs. The Thunderbirds are 4-5 overall this season. One of their losses was to Sheridan, but did make things competitive, falling 21-16.
