The Wyoming Department of Education has released an overview of the Wyoming Accountability in Education Act.

The overview summarizes Enrolled Act 65 into five categories: Assessment of Students, School Performance Rating and Reporting, Support and Capacity Building for Wyoming schools, Teacher and Leader Effectiveness, and District Assessment systems. It also identifies areas for future discussion related to the Accountability system. The overview also includes a timeline of key dates along the path towards implementation of the system.

Wyoming’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, Cindy Hill in a news release said, when completed, the system created by the Act will provide parents, students and teachers with valuable information of how the student is performing in relation to expectations. Growth as well as achievement will be available and ultimately the system will capture information about each student’s progress towards college and career readiness.
