Wyoming Republican Senator Mike Enzi says  demographics and the fact more people are living long enough to collect Social Security mean some sort of changes will be needed to make sure the program is viable for future generations.

But he says anytime anyone discusses adjustments to the system to insure it's long-term viability. they are immediately attacked by various senior citizen lobbying groups who oppose any type of adjustment to the program. Enzi challenged some of the senior groups to suggest changes that might help address the fact that more people are collecting social security while fewer people are paying in, saying they should offer ''specific solutions'' rather than simply opposing all changes.
