Acclaimed guitarist Eric Johnson has announced an almost month-long American tour, starting in Des Moines, Iowa on July 30 and wrapping up on Aug. 16 in Denver.

The tour coincides with the June 24 release of 'Europe Live,' a 14-track collection that features some of Johnson's best-known work in addition to a pair of new songs. The album was recorded in venues throughout Europe. The bulk of the album is culled from a show in Amsterdam however songs from Johnson's shows in Germany and Paris are also included.

Most notably, each of Johnson's shows on that spell saw the guitarist performing a different set list every night. This allowed a wider selection of his catalog to be captured for the album.

In the 80's, Johnson performed on recording sessions for Cat Stevens and Carole King and, along with Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, was one-third of the original G3 tour.

Johnson has released seven studio records to date, with his breakout coming courtesy of his 1990 album, 'Ah Via Musicom,' a million-plus selling record. Throughout his career, he has earned an impressive six Grammy Award nominations and three Top 10 Mainstream Rock hits ('Cliffs of Dover,' 'Righteous' and 'Trademark').
