Facebook has come out with a way to listen in on what you’re listening to, then posts it to your Facebook page, a feature  I can only describe in one word, creepy!

According to The Independent, Facebook has designed a new feature that uses your phone’s microphone to listen to your surroundings so it can add data about the music or television shows you might have on using these audio clues, then it posts it directly onto your Facebook page.

In posting about their new feature, Facebook says “That means if you want to share that you’re listing to your favorite Beyonce' track or watching the season premiere of Game of Thrones, you can do it quickly and easily, without typing.  If you’ve turned the feature on, you’ll see an audio icon moving on the screen when you write a status update.  If the feature finds a match, you can then choose to add the song, TV show or movie to your post."  Facebook also says that these “sounds are only used to find a match and are never stored."

Now this new Facebook feature is expected to come out in the next couple of weeks, and this feature is optional.  However, would you want it?

Sometimes I think Facebook is a little invasive when it comes to privacy, so would I want a feature to automatically post exactly what I’m doing?  I find this new feature to be a little on the creepy side!  What if you’re watching or listening to something you DON’T want others to know about, and do people really have to know EVERYTHING about what you’re doing?

Would you want this new Facebook feature?
