Many employers these days readily admit to scoping out the social media profiles of potential hires during the interview process. But what if all that Googling could be replaced with a single ID scan from a card you carry in your wallet?

For Facebook in particular, the new official-sounding FB Bureau is here to “help.” Operating under the premise that privacy is so early 2000s, it’s created an ID card with a code that can be scanned to pull up all your Facebook profile information.

The bureau describes the program thusly:

For the good or bad we are losing anonymity and Facebook Inc. is establishing order in this “world wild web” (for profit, not necessarily for the good of society) … Next time someone needs to “see your ID” – How about showing a Facebook ID card instead of the documents your government gave you? On the web this is common practice for millions of people already. Therefore – Forget privacy. The user’s next battle is about nothing less but who controls your identity, and we still might have something to say about it … Be the first among your friends to pick-up your personal FB identification card and explore the future.

The FB Bureau says the predecessor of this project is something called FB Resistance, “a series of workshops to encourage people to question the rules and restrictions of Facebook.” Test trials for the ID cards are planned for next month in Berlin and Amsterdam.

Here’s what it might look like when you flash that card. (Just tell them your name is Zuckerberg … Mark Zuckerberg.)
