Facebook Is The Pen Pal Of 2014

How many people do you know through Facebook that you have never met or talked to?

Last night we lost a dear friend, who we never met or talked with. But chatted with and exchanged pictures with for three years. Michelle O'Brien ran POM E RANCH in Durango, Colorado. I have corresponded with her since she was in California's Central Valley, where we both lived. Michelle was deeply devoted to pet rescue. We have three pomeranians and that was her rescue breed of choice.

I have been pretty said all day and my wife said, "You didn't know her." But I did. You can be friends with someone these days without meeting them.

Social Media gives us the opportunity to communicate with people we don't know personally. Michelle has tons of postings on her Facebook page from people that didn't know her personally, but know her from her work with animal rescue.
